Tapir o anta (Tapirus terrestris)

El tapir, también conocido como anta (Tapirus terrestris), es el mayor mamífero terrestre de Sudamérica. En Argentina habita en el norte del país, particularmente en las provincias de Jujuy, Salta, Chaco, Formosa y Misiones.

Se encuentra en peligro de extinción a nivel nacional y está catalogado como especie vulnerable, con poblaciones reducidas principalmente por la caza y la pérdida de hábitat en las Yungas y la selva paranaense. Su conservación resulta clave para mantener el equilibrio ecológico de estos ecosistemas.
