Cañaverales en las Yungas

En la ecorregión de las Yungas, también conocida como selva de montaña, los cañaverales no son solo parte del paisaje, sino uno de los motores económicos del Noroeste argentino, especialmente en las provincias de Tucumán, Jujuy y Salta.

El borde del cañaveral cumple una función de zona de amortiguación entre las áreas productivas y el monte nativo. En estos espacios es frecuente observar el paso de aves selváticas y, en sectores menos intervenidos, rastros de felinos o tapires que descienden desde la nuboselva.

Sugarcane Fields in the Yungas

In the Yungas ecoregion, also known as the mountain rainforest, sugarcane fields are not only part of the landscape but also a major economic driver of northwestern Argentina, particularly in the provinces of Tucumán, Jujuy, and Salta.

The edge of the sugarcane fields functions as a buffer zone between productive areas and native forest. In these transitional spaces, it is common to observe forest birds and, in less disturbed areas, traces of felines or tapirs descending from the cloud forest.
